The beautiful terraced vineyards of Lavaux are part of the UNESCO world heritage. The magnificent vineyards are diving into the crystal blue waters of Lake Geneva and offer a breathtaking view which leaves nobody untouched.

The site of Lavaux is a landmark of Swiss Heritage, with its terraced vineyards above the lake stretching over some 14 kilometres, forming a veritable link between the two urban agglomerations, Lausanne to the west, and Vevey-Montreux to the east. This region only became prosperous when the Romans and then the Christians, who were already winemaking amateurs, transformed this narrow band of land between the lake and a hinterland of glens and hills that had been moulded by erosion. A climate suitable for the grapevine favoured the growth of the first roots of a cultivation, which would establish itself in the middle of the 13th century thanks to the Cictercian monks, and then the first winemaking jobbers, who became the land owners with the Reformation and the distribution of the church's land.
