The Alpine resorts of the Lake Geneva Region offer the best of two worlds. On the one hand, they possess the most modern state-of-the-art amenities and infrastructure. On the other hand, they have succeeded in preserving a wealth of natural beauty and in retaining a friendly feel. This well-balanced blend of dynamism and tradition reflects the Region's unique appeal. Many of the resorts share captivating features in common, but each is proud to possess its own distinctive identity. Preserving their heritage and their environment, but also by providing infrastructure and equipment performance. Part of prestigious cultural events, they provide a spectacular playground for sports, summer and winter.

Les Alpes Vaudoises are basically home to a few atractive, pretty much isolated small ski villages - Villars, Les Diablerets and Leysin. All specifically family-oriented, thus give some of the best facilities outside the massive Valasian resorts. Villars leads the bunch, connected by a system of lifts both with its neighbour, Gryon, and with the seprate resort of Les Diablerets. While Leysin tucked away in a valley above Aigle, completes the picture. In summer, all these villages sluber quietly in the sunshine, hosting walkers and those seeking the kind of undisturbed Alpine retreat
